The Banjo King

The Moonshine! card collecting game is surprisingly strategic for such a simple ruleset—my partner and I got hooked after just one round. It's the perfect size to toss in a bag for a quick two-player match at the pub.

Played the four-player version at a friend's place and immediately ordered my own copy — the moonshine collecting mechanic gets competitive fast once everyone's hoarding the same cards. Rules are simple enough that we taught two new people in under five minutes, which never happens with card games.

We cracked open the box on a rainy evening and suddenly it was midnight — Moonshine’s card-collecting loop is so simple yet sneaky addictive. It taught two new players in under five minutes, and even works great with four. For a tiny box, it’s earned permanent spot in our game bag.
